In my paintings I choose to promote a sense of well-being in people, and increase feelings of harmony and peace.
I use Asian iconography in a Western context in order to communicate the idea that Great Wisdom and Compassion when embodied in the human form, looks like us!
I use some formal elements from the East, such as iconic postures and hand gestures, (to carry the message of inner transformation), and some formal elements from the West, such as chiaroscuro (to make them seem solid and real, and therefore human).
When we look at the painting, we are inspired to awaken to the qualities of an Enlightened Being that we already, inherently have.
Such as we are changed by what we look at, I hope my paintings make you feel calm and clear, balanced and spacious, and at ease.
