Toby Zallman

Toby Zallman is an established sculptor whose work is driven by the materials with which she works. She contrasts hard/soft, masculine/feminine, open/closed, and hanging/sitting references. Her materials range from wood and steel to dirt, tar and beeswax. The new work, done on computers, computer keyboards and telephones, is a continuation of that approach, now utilizing the technology as found objects and ordering devices. Outdated technology, our society’s waste, become vital art materials.
