My paintings piece together ideas and experiences, not in reality but within thoughts and feelings. The experience of looking into a painting creates another experience all together. What I attempt as a painter is to present you with something that will clear your mind, something new, an image or idea you are at a loss of what to do with. My paintings inspire clarity within myself and their viewers. My process involves beginning with large abstractions and finding, through meditations and inspired actions, what I am looking to focus on. Eventually I settle on an image that for better or worse I feel is the “right” way to proceed. As I continue to paint I concentrate on the ideas that come back over and over again as in meditation. Those thoughts are my intentions for content; those thoughts are my humanity and what I imbue these paintings with.
