Throughout my life, I’ve lived in a constant altered state of mind through sound. The lack of natural hearing growing up has forced me to perceive and respond to situations differently than others. This notion inspired the idea and direction of exploration in my own work. I don’t only take myself, but others into an environment that provides them newfound senses that I feel I experience through my deafness.
My training in architecture and fashion allows me to provide different elements of design that can address the experience I have through my deafness and by it allows me to approach each design in a different direction ranging from sculptural design to wearable design.
The normal objects/spaces I design are altered; the person’s interaction with the object will change from its original purpose. This allows provocation in someone’s reactions and allow them to what the norms may be.
