Portraiture is my driving force and I continue to reach for excellence. In these paintings I visualized the contents, composition, color and the general structure, and then I transcend the facts to become a true form of my expression. I go for a powerful visual impact with a strong play on shadow and a dramatic view of the subject.
Recently I have focused on different ethnic groups and especially the Native American life, which has surfaced several times throughout my painting career. Portraiture is demanding on your senses. It forces you to be aware of not only the likeness but of the soul.
