Throughout my work there is the exploration of line and emotion. I find that the human figure is the perfect vehicle in which to express both. Although many of my paintings are figurative, I rarely have a preconceived notion as to the direction my work will take. I allow the forms to reveal themselves; and then begin the process of deconstructing image, manipulating boundaries, and distilling shape while leaving a nuance of emotion that is universal. Color carries the emotion of my work and varies within each piece and each moment.
