“Best Fiends Forever” will be on display July 16th – August 24th, 2012 at Elephant Room located at 704 S Wabash Ave. in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood. The show will feature artist Burn353’s most recent work. There will be an opening reception held on Friday, July 20th from 6:30 – 9:00pm where visitors will be able to meet the artist, view and purchase work.
About the Artist
Burn353 from www.burn353.com is an artist and graphic designer. He studied art near Chicago where he earned his BFA. Growing up in a small farm town, train cars were often his canvas. He eventually took those graffiti skills and applied them to canvas and wood. His designs are of clean lines mixed with raw graffiti style accents. Between graffiti spray painted stencils and wild hand painted details, his work has a style all its own. He is well known for his signature skull face with dripping paint teeth. Burn353 has shown from California to New York and everywhere in between. He is always looking to push his talent and venture off to create new works. He currently has designed a line of steam punk jewelry and is working on characters for a new line of vinyl toys. He is an artist that always tries new things and doesn’t like to be stuck doing the same things over and over again.
“Best Fiends Forever” is inspired by the thought that both comic characters and pop icons never really die. Even if that character wanted to die, they will always be around in one form or another. Many characters long since gone are still printed and relevant today whether it be in the form of a spoof or in other representations. Burn353 used this inspiration to create a cast of characters and some spoofs of iconic figures.

Elephant Room is a Chicago-based arts organization specializing in primarily local, under-represented artists and designers working across all types of media. It operates a retail art gallery where artists can sell their work and retain a majority of the sale, and frequently hosts art-related events, talks and workshops open to the public.
